The Federally Administered Tribal Regions (Fata) recently became part of Khyber Pakhtunkha through the 31 Constitutional Amendment. Elections for provincial assembly seats in Fata will take place within a year after 2018 general elections are held, whereas elections on 12 seats of the National Assembly from the tribal region will be elected in the elections on June 25. Various parties have fielded their candidates for NA seats. The merger changed the composition of the KP assembly, increasing its strength to 145 members including 115 general seats, 26 reserved for women and four seats for non-Muslims. 21 seats allocated to the Fata in the KP assembly, including 14 general seats, four women seats and a non-Muslims seat.
